A Lowkey Bachelorette Weekend in Charleston, SC
A 4-Day Charleston Itinerary for a Cozy Girls’ Getaway
When my girls and I started planning my bachelorette weekend, I knew I didn’t want the typical jam-packed itinerary filled with reservations, clubs, matching outfits, and running from one activity to the next.
I wanted something fun, cozy, a little adventurous, and most importantly, time to actually enjoy being together.
Charleston ended up being the perfect place for it.
In an effort to reminisce on my college years at College of Charleston, a Charleston trip felt like returning home. It was an opportunity to relive some of my favorite years of my life, and do it with my best friends.
We spent four days between Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island, and downtown Charleston, eating amazing food, drinking lots of espresso martinis (you'll notice quickly that this is a theme for me), walking on the beach, getting caught in the rain, taking a ghost tour, making charm bracelets, and staying up way too late talking on the porch.
And while the weather definitely had its own plans for us, it honestly made the weekend even more memorable.
So, if you're planning a lowkey Charleston bachelorette weekend, here’s exactly how we spent ours.
DAY 1: Cozy Arrival & Opening Night
Check In + Settle Into Our Airbnb
For our Charleston bachelorette weekend, we stayed at the cutest Airbnb in Wild Dunes on Isle of Palms.
The plan for our first day was intentionally simple: arrive, get comfortable, and ease into the weekend.
However, Hurricane Erin decided to make an appearance as an uninvited (yet fitting) guest. But nevertheless, She (we) persisted. We embraced the chaos and we went with the flow.
We got cozy at the Airbnb, ordered pizza, played games, and spent the evening talking and catching up.
Honestly? It was exactly what we needed.
There’s something so nice about starting a girls’ weekend without immediately having somewhere to be. We got to settle in, unpack, pour some drinks, and actually enjoy being together.
It was the perfect opening circle for the weekend.
DAY 2: Beach Walks, Dinner & a Very Wet Ghost Tour
Coffee on the Porch + A Beach Walk
We started our second day slowly, which is exactly how a bachelorette weekend should start.
We slept in, made coffee, and enjoyed it on the porch of the Airbnb before heading down to the beach for a walk.
The weather was still gloomy, but we weren't letting a little (or a lot) of rain ruin the weekend.
After our beach walk, we headed back to the Airbnb to get ready for dinner in downtown Charleston.
Dinner at Felix
That evening, we headed downtown for dinner at Félix.
Not only was this restaurant delicious, but it was beautifully designed. Intentionally creating a Parisian-inspired restaurant and cocktail bar that transcends you upon entry.
I highly recommend ordering the deviled eggs and mussels. Both were delicious, and of course, we had plenty of their delicious cocktails to go with them.
I, of course, got an espresso martini. Because apparently I cannot go anywhere without ordering one.
A Rainy Charleston Ghost Tour
After dinner, we made our way over to Market Street for a classic Charleston ghost tour with Bulldog Tours.
While the rain held out on us for most of the day, she came back in full swing just as we began our tour. And when I say it was rainy…it was RAINY.
The streets were flooded, we were soaked, and this probably wasn't exactly what our tour guide had pictured when planning the evening either. But somehow, it made the experience even more fun.
Our guide did such a great job keeping everyone's spirits up, telling stories, and finding dry spots for us to stand whenever possible. We were laughing through the entire thing, even as we were completely drenched.
One of the highlights was getting to go into the Provost Dungeon, which added an extra creepy element to the evening. But mostly we were just relieved to have a dry place to sit for the first time in 20 minutes.
By the time the tour was over, we were ready to dry off and head back to Isle of Palms.
It may not have been the Charleston night we envisioned, but it ended up being one of the most memorable parts of the entire trip, full of endless laughter and jokes.
I've found that the best travel memories are the ones where everything goes slightly wrong.
DAY 3: Sunshine, Sullivan's Island & a Low-Country Boil
The Hurricane Finally Moves Along
And then, just like that, we woke up to sunshine.
After days of rain, the storm finally moved along and we were gifted with the most beautiful post-hurricane beach day.
Naturally, we had to take advantage of it.
Brunch at The Obstinate Daughter
We started our day on Sullivan's Island, which might be my favorite beach town in Charleston.
It's the perfect combination of beautiful beaches, great restaurants, and a laid-back coastal atmosphere.
For brunch, we went to The Obstinate Daughter, and immediately fell in love with the space.
The interior was gorgeous, with beautiful wood paneling and thoughtful design details throughout. The menu had a little bit of everything, including pasta, pizza, brunch dishes, and other main plates.
We ordered pizzas and oysters to share. I, naturally, had another espresso martini.
When in Charleston, right?
Frosé + A Post-Hurricane Beach Day
After brunch, we stopped by The Co-Op on Sullivan's Island for bottles of frosé.
We grabbed the Black Oak California Rosé, and we were officially ready to soak up some sunshine.
Finally.
We spent the afternoon doing absolutely nothing, and it was perfect. We laid in the sand, swam in the ocean, soaked up the sun, and enjoyed the unique beauty of a post-hurricane beach day.
No schedule.
No rushing.
Just the beach, drinks, and my favorite people.
Sometimes the most memorable part of a trip is simply having nowhere else to be.
DIY Lowcountry Boil
That evening, we headed back to the Airbnb and decided to make our own Lowcountry boil. And let me tell you…it was DELICIOUS.
We loaded it up with:
Shrimp
Corn
Potatoes
Crab legs
Sausage
Onions
It was the perfect dinner for a Charleston weekend and such a fun way to end our beach day.
Charm Bracelets, Lingerie & Late-Night Talks
But dinner wasn't the end of the night.
We continued with wine, lingerie gifts, and a DIY charm bracelet-making session.
This was probably one of my favorite parts of the entire weekend.
There was something so special about sitting around together, making bracelets, exchanging gifts, laughing, and talking about everything and nothing.
Eventually, we moved out onto the porch and ended the night watching YouTube videos and having those late-night porch conversations that somehow only happen when you're on a girls' trip.
You know the ones.
The conversations that start with something completely random and somehow turn into stories, life updates, and laughing until you're exhausted.
It was the perfect final night.
DAY 4: Breakfast, Shopping & Saying Goodbye

Unfortunately, all good weekends have to come to an end.
We checked out of our Airbnb and headed back into downtown Charleston for one last morning of food and shopping before everyone hit the road.
We went straight for breakfast at The Sweetwater Cafe.
The restaurant had the cutest retro-inspired design, with fun artwork and a really unique atmosphere.
And after staying up late the night before, drinking wine, and spending the day in the sun, we were ready for breakfast.
The food was delicious and exactly what we needed before starting the drive home.
One Last Walk Through the Market
After breakfast, we walked over to the Charleston City Market and spent some time shopping and wandering around.
It was the perfect slow ending to the weekend. Enjoying one last walk around Charleston before saying our goodbyes.
Eventually, we headed back to the cars, hugged goodbye, and started the drive home.
The Perfect Lowkey Charleston Bachelorette
Looking back, I think the best part about this bachelorette weekend was that we didn't try to do too much.
We had a plan, but we also let the weekend happen.
The rain changed our plans.
The ghost tour turned into an adventure.
The sunshine gave us an unexpected beach day.
And some of my favorite memories happened at the Airbnb. Sitting on the porch, making bracelets, eating dinner, playing games, and talking late into the night.
If you're looking for a lowkey or highkey bachelorette destination, Charleston is such a great option for either.
You can have the best of everything: beautiful beaches, amazing restaurants, cocktails, shopping, history, and plenty of opportunities to slow down and actually enjoy time with your favorite people.
And if you're anything like us, just make sure you leave room for espresso martinis. Because apparently, that's essential.

A Bachelorette Weekend That Wasn't Entirely About the Bachelorette
At the end of the day, this weekend wasn't really about having the most wild night party or checking every Charleston attraction off a list.
It was about friendship, good food, beach days, cozy nights, and making memories together.
And honestly, that's exactly the kind of bachelorette weekend I would choose every time.
